Videofest 2008

Members of Stafford’s Video Production Class recently took part in the annual Vermont State Videofest held at Castleton State College. The festival is open to all Vermont high school students and awards outstanding production in the areas of narrative fiction, experimental video, documentary and public service announcements. This year Stafford took home three awards including an award for Outstanding Cinematography won by Fair Haven junior Chelsea Tice. Chelsea’s video also picked up 3rd place over all in the Experimental/Animation category. Mill River senior Ruby Fannin earned 2nd place in the Documentary category for “Larynx Sweet Larynx”. The 45-minute documentary profiled the unusual lives of three college students trying to live independently in a make-shift camp in rural Vermont.

Additional student produced work will be shown at the STC Premiere Night to be held June 2nd at the Paramount Theater. The event is a combined effort of the Video Production and Digital Arts Programs at Stafford Technical Center. Doors open at 6pm.
