Criteria for 2nd year students in PSSLE 2008-2009
To be accepted into the second year of Public Safety Services: Law Enforcement at STC, the following minimum criteria must be met. The Advisory Committee for PSSLE retains the ability to modify these criteria.
The applying student must:
1. Have the ability to provide valid transportation to off campus activities.
2. Successfully complete all first year curriculum and competencies.
3. Agree to take CSJ classes or CP classes at RHS.
4. Have parental permission (regardless of age, as long as still residing in the
parental/foster home).
5. Have a recommendation from the current instructor.
6. Have demonstrated independence, reliability, responsibility, dependability, an
ability to follow directions, a willingness to learn, and honesty.
7. Understand that CSJ and STC academic schedules differ; and agree to attend
classes at each institution following the individual schedule.
8. Participate in assigned externship.
9. Maintain a positive attitude at all times.
10. Agree to limited financial obligations associated with CSJ attendance (or
have a prearranged exemption through the STC instructor).
The applying student should:
11. Intend to pursue post secondary education or a career in Public Safety Services.
12. Have maintained a B average in all high school level classes and a C average in
all college level classes during the first year at Stafford.
