Summer Construction Camp

July 5th – July 15th 2011
9am – 2:30pm daily

Construction Camp introduces current 7th and 8th grade students to the local construction trades industry. The Construction Camp will run from July 5th to July 15th. There is no cost for this Camp. Lunch is included each day.

John Bixby, Electrical/Plumbing Instructor at Stafford Technical Center, in collaboration with local businesses, offers a two-week program that integrates safety instruction, operation of heavy equipment, visits to job sites, building a special project, and an introduction to all aspects of the trades involved in the construction industry.  Students are provided with safety equipment and tools as part of an overview to the fast paced construction industry.

Tours include visits to participating contractors such as Naylor & Breen Builders, Markowski Excavating, Wright Construction Co., Inc., and Smalley  Contractors.
