Summer Arts and Technology Camp at Stafford Technical Center is designed for students who will be entering 7th, 8th, or 9th grade in the fall of 2011. Participants will engage in many different activities each related to a specific area of arts or technology. Having the ability to work independently under the supervision of a skilled instructor is essential.

The total cost for the week is $35 including lunch.
Transportation
Busing will be provided to and from Stafford Technical Center from central locations across Rutland County.
Sample Workshops (Campers visit all areas)
Cabinet Making/ Construction: Amaze your friends and family with your wood working skills. You will use hand tools and creativity to build a project that you can take home! Learn how you can combine woodworking and high-tech tools into a profitable career.
Culinary Arts: Students will create their own culinary creations and find out what being a professional chef is all about. Hands-on fun making bread, pizza and pastries.
Digital Arts: Do you like to draw? Like computers? Learn how to make a short animation using professional software such as Adobe Photoshop and Flash.
Forestry & Horticulture: Get your feet wet with stream ecology! Learn the importance of keeping our waterways clean. You will also learn to identify important tree species and their roles in our everyday lives.
Video Production: Write, shoot and edit your own short film! You will get a chance to explore your talent as a camera-person, video editor, actor or director.
Hospitality & Entrepreneurship: Have you ever thought of what it would be like to own your own business? What would you sell? How much do you know about money? Participate in creative activities that will get you thinking about inventing, owning, operating, and more…
Human Services: Learn about the art of storytelling. Create storyboards, puppet shows, or flannel board stories. This is a useful skill for working in education, psychology, as a parent or just for fun.
Music: Explore various styles ranging from Rock and Jazz to Funk, R&B and more. You will learn about developing rhythm, musical improvisation and audio recording.
