
This program is designed to prepare students for further education and/or employment in the health care field. The curriculum provides students with the opportunity to experience a variety of health careers. Students observe and practice entry-level skills through classroom and lab work at Stafford Technical Center and at clinical experiences in health care settings. Students completing the program can become employed as medical assistants, nurse aides or continue on to post-secondary health careers.

Class Activities:
A large part of the program includes hands-on experience at local health care providers such as Rutland Regional Medical Center, Vermont Sports Medicine, Eden Park Nursing Home, Rutland Area Visiting Nurses, and Regional Ambulance Service. Students are offered English at the Center.
Job Opportunities:
Students take the State Nurse Assistant Licensing Exam. Students completing the Health Occupations program will be prepared for college programs in such areas as nursing, physical therapy, sports medicine, emergency medicine, or veterinary science.
