Students learn to operate, service and repair agricultural and heavy equipment, and small engines. Students use hand and power tools, and welding equipment. Entry-level employment skills are acquired as students work with backhoes, tractors, bulldozers, motorcycles, snowmobiles and lawn equipment.

Class Activities:
Students work on and learn to operate everything from lawnmowers and motorcycles to bulldozers and dump trucks. Welding is a required component in the program. In addition, students learn basic refinishing techniques in Automotive Refinishing and basic electrical systems in Auto Technology. Students are offered English at the Center. Students take field trips to potential employers and colleges.
Sample Job Opportunities:
Students are prepared to consider a broad base of occupations including service technician, fabrication, equipment operations and general maintenance.

Credits/Embedded Credit:
Up to six units of credit. Embedded Science Credit. (Mathematics and Fine Art credit available.)
Certification:
Students may test for Welding Certification with AWS (American Welding Society). Students completing the program with an 80 or better average receive a certificate from the TECHNICAL CENTER.
