Cosmetology

This program prepares students for a successful career in the cosmetology industry.  Students enroll in the program for two academic years including one summer semester.  During this concentrated instruction, students accumulate 1500 clock hours required to be eligible for the Vermont State Cosmetology Licensing Examination.  Successful students in this program must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and practice professionalism in all interactions.  Applied academics in the areas of business and finance, cosmetic chemistry, and language arts are an integral part of the program.

Class Activities:

• Salon Management:  learning all aspects of starting a new salon
• Opportunities to attend Trade Shows
• Participate in local community service projects: cutting hair for the elderly, etc.

 Certification Opportunities:

• Up to 1500 hours towards the  VT State Cosmetology License
• Heartsaver CPR
• Students completing 90% of the Core Competencies will receive a certificate from STAFFORD TECHNICAL CENTER.
